Barberton Accommodation

We offer friendly, comfortable accommodation. Guthrie's is situated in a quiet and tranquil setting with an indigenous garden. It is within walking distance of the town and close to all sport amenities. We have a lovely patio to relax on and a large swimming pool during the hot weather.

Backing onto the foot of the breathtaking Makhonjwa Mountain Range in the old mining town of Barberton, is Fountain Baths Guest House and Cottages. Built in 1884, it was first a public bath house for the gold miners. The first swimming pool in the Old Transvaal was also on these premises.

Our guest house is situated at the slopes of the beautiful Makhonjwa mountains, with a breathtaking panoramic view over the De Kaap Valley and town centre from our spacious verandah. This Victorian house was built in 1890 and poses a great history.

A road that winds its way up the mountain is lined with thousands of ancient rocks tells an epic story of life. It is the road that leads to the zenith of ultra serenity. 3.5 billion years of history is captured in the footprints of these rocks.
